For the first time in over 50 years, Cleveland is updating its laws around air quality to add a cumulative impacts law, which recognizes that many small pollution sources add up over time, devastating community health. Unfortunately, the current draft falls short of what is needed to protect the health of community members and improve our air.
To protect our health, the Air Code needs to:
account for the air pollution building up over time from multiple sources
deny permits for new sources or additional emissions in pollution hotspots
We are asking residents to join our campaign to encourage Cleveland City Council to pass an improved Air Code that best protects the health of community members. Sign up for our mailing list to learn about actions that we need your support on.
